Texans fan: Am I stupid for preferring Huard over Plummer?

What are your thoughts. We all know that Plummer's being said to come here to Houston. I'm not one bit excited about it. I prefer Damon Huard. Am I wrong for that?

I'd be REALLY surprised if he was our starting QB next year. There's been reports that he's been having talks with other teams and if a negotiation can be made...then the Texans are seeking a draft pick(s) through trades.

Jake Plummer isn't a PTPer. I can't blame you for wanting Huard instead. He showed some decent skills out there, he can't make the Texans any worse than they are now. I feel that Jake has had enough chances in this league, Huard wouldn't be a horrible choice.

I just think that Jake's messed up in the head due to 1. being the guy on a bad Cardinals team for all those years and 2. Not really fitting in the Denver system. He's not a rocket arm passer guy (see Cutler) I think of him as a scrambler. Now I know that worked with Elway, but Plummer is not Elway. Plus I like him for what he is doing on behalf of the Tillman family. I know that means nothing regarding ability to play, but it shows character.

to answer your question, yes, you are insane. plummer has raw skill, and limiting turnovers is an easy thing to teach in the right system. plus, he's taken a team to the playoffs.

But the guy makes nasty mistakes. He can't get rid of that knack or making critical...VERY critical mistakes when it counts most.

Look at the 2006 AFC Championship game versus Steelers. During this past season...dude didn't do so well either. I didn't see him win a game for Denver at all, this season. Damon Huard on the other hand...

So then, on that note....granted you've bashed Grossman on a number occassions, from what I've seen.........the Bears are set in the QB position cause Rex has raw skill and has not only taken his team to the playoffs but has won more playoff games (if I'm not mistaken) than Plummer has and has also gotten his team to the Super Bowl, which again...Plummer hasn't done. Then, hypothetically...the Bears would too be insane to have let Griese play and even this off-season, go as far as entertain the possibility of bringing in another QB to challenge Rex at his position. From what I'm interpreting...Rex has no reason to even be challenged or have his team, coaching staff, fans and the media even contemplate that scenario.

Going even further...the Texans should look at attaining the likes of Kurt Warner, Drew Bledsoe....or even maybe trying to snatch up Brad Johnson...I dont' know......instead of seeking a player like Plummer? Afterall....Warner, Bledsoe and Johnson have excelled more than Plummer has...
