Default Wild-Card Weekend

My predictions:

Pats over Jets
K.C. over Indy
Eagles over Giants
Dallas over Seattle

Pats over Jets:
IMO...the Jets had a good regular season run. However...the Pats are very playoff experienced. They're a tough playoff opponent at that. The Jets...well, they're just not.

K.C. over Indy:
Peyton can win the game. However, Peyton isn't on the field, as he said against the Texans in a loss, as basketball players are...playing both sides of the ball. He was saying there was so much he can do, which is true. With that said...I think this game has Chiefs all over it. Edwards plays his conservative style of football...eating away at the clock with the run game, which is their strength...against a bad run Indy defense. K.C.'s D might not be great...but I think it'll do enough to allow K.C.'s offense stay afloat for the win.

Eagles over Giants:
Eli is shell shocked. I think the Eagles' O-line is one of the best and this will allow Westbrook to do some damage on the ground. I wouldn't say the ground game will open up the passing game cause the Eagles offense isn't run that way. Reid does the opposite, passes to set up the run and then...they compliment each other to the point a vice-versa effect comes into play. Giants still have key players hurt and overall hurts the Giants significantly as we've seen throughout the season.

Dallas over Seattle:
I really don't have much to say here. It's all up to which defense and Romo show up. If both Jekyll versions of those respective parties show up....then it's a blow out IMO, in Seattle's favor. Seattle's a finesse team...so if Dallas can make it a physical game, I think they smack the Seahawks around. But...that Dallas Defense needs to be stiff but effective. If it's not.....just stiff with no effectiveness, Seattle takes it looking pretty.

I will agree with all but one. I think Seattle takes Dallas.

and Deac I say that for the first time this season with no jabs intended. It is playoff time, and it is time for all the nonsense to come to an end. It is down and dirty from here on out. So, with that being said.
I wish to all the remaining contenders the best.

Pats, Colts, Cowboys, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Giants.

Not that I am a big Herman Edwards fan but the Jets made the playoffs in four of the five years he was head coach and two years ago (2004)beat San Diego (12-4) in San Diego and were a Field Goal away from Beating Pittsburgh (15-1) in Pittsburgh.Chad was QB in both games...with a torn rotator cuff. That Plus he was named 2006 comeback player of the year. Not tough? This year the colts needed a last minute drive to beat them... and in the first patriot game the jets were driving for the win... Held the Bears to 10 points.....Not tough..
Now I am not saying they are going to win..I hope that they do of course, but they beat the pats in foxboro this year already...just saying that they have a chance if all goes perfect... and that is a big if...

Jets, Jets, Jets....playoffs are a totally different story my man. You know that, needless to say. The Pats of the regular season can be shut out by the Bills during the regular season. Having beat them in the regular season is a non-factor now. They can be tamed by the Dolphins during the regular season as well. However, their post-season, back to back Super Bowl wins, 3 titles in 4 years speak for themselves. The Jets have beaten the Colts in the playoffs. They've beaten a San Diego team who didn't look anywhere near as strong as they do now. There's a reason why the Chargers have been looking as dominant as they have. Their defense is as tough as they come as well. These Chargers aren't the same ones the Jets played two years ago.

I'm not saying the Jets don't have a chance cause the last time the public did that....saying how they'd be the worst team in the league at the start of the season and all. So, we can't write them off so easily...we know. But...and a huge BUT it is...the Pats don't give any reason to believe they shouldn't be favored.

i think everyone agrees that the pats are the favorite. The problem is you said the jets aren't tough. I would have to disagree with you. They are a pretty tough team. As jetsjetsjets stated, they beat NE in NE, was in the other game, played a tough 10-0 game with the bears, etc. They don't have a lot of talent, I think its the toughness that has made up for it, as well as them being well coached.

Jets have a decent D, efficient QB, and are well coached, that makes them a tough out IMO. Not to mention all the reasons you love the pats, Mangini is instilling the same values, and brings the same approach with his team. After all Bellicek was his mentor.

I worded myself wrong. They're not nearly as tough, playoff-wise, IMO. I'm not saying it's a fact and can't be challenged. I was just giving my take. I respect the Pats far too much in the playoffs. I admire what Brady's done with what he's had to work with on offense. He's done it his entire career, making names of no names. Now he's got a new batch and it looks to continue. I had my doubts about Brady...but that dude is a competitor like no other man. There's probably those as competitive as him...but you don't get any more than he is. He's earned my respect, like I said. If the Jets pull it off...my hats off to them. I have to say...I would be surprised. This is all considering how I was so happy the Broncos took them out last year since Indy and Pittsburgh played the next day. I said, "Oh damn....the Colts are taking out the Broncos..that's for sure. I hate the Steelers but I just know their stank arse might take out the Colts. With the Pats out the way...they have the best chance they could ever have." What happens...Colts still don't do it. I highly doubt we'll see a repeat of last year's divional playoff performance the Pats and Brady put up.

o ok, just though you meant they weren't a tough team or be a tough out.

And i personally don't believe in the pats mystique this year.

I hear ya...there's room to feel that way. If the Jets pull it off...I guess that will undo the respect I have for them, cause it's way up there. They might not have Rodney Harrison back there yet again. That's a major loss.

Again, i want them to win but am realistic.. If they lose I know they lost to the better team. But Jets fans never root for or want the Pats to win ever. Especially considering the absolute lack of class bellicek (sp?) has shown toward Mangini. I would love to see how he reacts if he lost in the playoffs to Mangini. That would be priceless. My take is that it will either be a very close game or a complete blowout. A close game gives the Jets the best shot. 17-14 etc. If it gets to be high scoring, most of that I think will be by the Pats. I do not see the Jets winning 34-30 or something like that. But anyway i am happy with their progress this year and this game is all gravy!

But please never doubt the toughness of Chad, Coles, vilma, cothchery, etc or for that matter Wayne Cherbet back a few years. Toughness is not something this team lacks.

I never do.. a bad field goal kicker and we are not talking about the Pats or their classless coach.

I know Chad's tough. I've always liked that dude....even when Jets fans have given up on him.

I totally called that botched hold by Romo. Interesting game though.

Okay, I need to figure out who's idea it was to kidnap the Colts D all year and then let them free before the playoffs. I have NEVER seen a team contain LJ like that. 32 yards, thats insane.
