I really feel for poor Carr out there, they've given him everything but an OL which is what I think they should have gone instead of Mario if they weren't going to draft Bush. He's never really had a fair chance to prove himself and he really gets a lot of respect from me, I haven't seen a QB take that many hits and keep walking since Jim Harbaugh in 95 and even then he missed a few starts here and there.

My thoughts exactly. I wasn't even really for Bush going to the Texans because of their OL (or lack of). And then I saw they drafted Mario? Pff... I'm not saying he can't be good. He has potential... But like the title says, help David Carr!!

(btw, that game was pretty funny !)

Well I'm from Houston and I've seen just about every game of his and until this season...I felt the same as you. With this season, I've grown tired of making excuses for him. He lacks everything a QB needs except for the arm to throw it. But just because you have a cannon of an arm doesn't mean you're a good QB. He lacks smarts and heart along with leadership.

When they're losing....he's all smiles on the damn field. I see nothing more but a daddy's boy out there on the field (never plays a game without daddy there) and that's exactly what he looks like...I kid you not. When the Texans are down and being burried by the other team without an offensive output with Carr at the helm.....after coughing up the ball with numerous fumbles....he's on the sidelines smiling his jolly punk self off instead of regrouping....showing some fire in the eyes, disgust.....antsy to get back on the field with his guys and change things around. This guy's no champ and must go, hence the white flag.

All the sacks aren't only the O-line's fault. He holds on to the ball too long because of his lack of reading coverages, checking down his WRs (that's why D.D. had so many receptions), and just not having the smarts to improvise.....and as a last resort....throw the ball away to avoid the sack.

I say more times than not...the sacks were his fault. We've still had a less than average line....but even when he gets time (more than enough time for other QBs)....he still has trouble executing.

Outstanding find Raf....

With the way that the season is shuffling out...looks like they should have one of the top 4 picks in the draft...

There's always 2007...

I think he's been rattled more than what he's been able to handle. He does hold on to the ball too long, IMO. He lacks leadership qualities and to me....the fire a competitor has in his eyes is missing. He doesn't improvise...when plays break down....he doesn't posess playmaking ability that sometimes is needed to win a game. Plays need to be executed without a wrinkle in order for him to perform well. Well...in the wonderful world of sports...things don't unfold to a T that often so playmaking, impovising ability is imperative.....Carr lacks all that more often than times when he shows flashes of it.

I won't completely discount the idea of him going to another team and succeeding. Perhaps...psychologically....the dude just can't make it happen here since the worst of his entire career has taken place with this team, in this city. Maybe...all he does need is a new beginning. He's got a great arm, he's athletic with mobility....he's got some pretty nice accuracy. It's the intangibles that aren't there.

But then again....he can't be blamed for all the losing we've had to endure. Coaching was horrid during the Caper's era. Our defense, with the exception of the first year, has been a joke. I know it's tough to just blame Carr for all of it....but it happens. It's just the nature of the business. I admire his class though. He's been that his entire stay here, even after all the mess Houston's thrown at him.

I picked him up for the XGP Fantasy League today expecting just that.

It's a shame that some dumb ass truck driver can see what to do to beat them and these paid professionals have trouble seeing the forest from the trees.
