Default Scanning Enthusiasts

I know this is a really long shot, but do we have any scanning enthusiasts around? I recently picked up a pro-2052, and am starting to get very interested in it. Any others out there?

I had actually thought about getting a scanner a few years ago, just for the hell of it and to see what I could hear.

Was told all the emergency services (Police, fire, ambulance) switched to a digital system and thought... Eh, they were the ones I wanted to listen to. So I never got it.

I knew what he was talking about thanks to google. The only experience i have with scanners is from about 10 years ago when i had a friend who's brother had such frequent run-ins with the police, his parents got a scanner so they could keep tabs on him.

My grandfather has a scanner and, when I was younger, I used to always listen to it when we visited him. It was pretty cool. Although, it was mainly just fire calls or ambulance calls. The police had a different system.

Man about 13 or so years ago my mate had one in his room, we didnt listen to it all the time but when we did there was some crazy shit happening. Some guy was walking down his street with an axe in his hands, stuff that never even makes the news...
