They are donating money, but the fact that its so little is part of what upsets me. Let me find the figures.

"World Trade Center will be released across the US and Canada on August 9. Paramount has said it will donate 10 per cent of ticket sales from the first five days to the victims' families.

By contrast, Universal's United 93, the first movie on the topic of September 11 which portrays the passengers who took back a hijacked plane that crashed in Pennsylvania on the day, donated a reported seven-figure sum to the families."

im pretty sure united 93 had a smaller percentage than 10% i thnik it was like 5%.

10% is more than nothing. anyways if hte movie doesnt make any money then the company is out alot of money. quite frankly the charities are still going to get some money, so what does it matter if its not like a 90billion dollar donation. its still money that is being donated.

Because they are making money of the biggest tragedy to hit the US. 1000s of people died and they are making a buck off it.

meh, at first I was pretty angry that they were making a movie about this, but I've calmed down about that. Im still not going to see it though., mostly because I cant even sit through a documentary about 9/11 for an hour.

I'm not seeing it because it's an Oliver Stone movie and I don't want people making money off of the worst attack on our soil in history.

So what "kid"? It's different than making a war movie or something like that. These innocent civilians were murdered. I'm not going to support some fat-assed Hollywood director getting rich off of their murders.

kid is a term of endearment

he is not doing for profit, see the movie - it's documenting a significant event in our lives that changed everything

even though its inaccurate (to the people who actually did the rescuing, see above link to slate in my other post)

So he's doing it for free? Doubt it. Even if the money is not his reason (which I don't believe it is) the point still stands he is making money off it.
