I'm thinking they had a cool game, and then spent the last three years making the game "accessible" for "everyone". I'd much rather play the Spore they showcased at E3 in 2005 than this thin cup of piss.
Damn shame, it could've been such a cool experience if they hadn't "stupified" it - 'cause the basic game dynamics are pretty awesome.
