that is GENIUS.

for a moment, i was a lil worried that this game was starting to become a modified/upgraded version of cyber nations... with the ability to task citizens, we start going into a separate game and along the lines of an RTS (which i love).

my question is, what specifically can you task citizens to? products? couldnt it be expanded to match the resources our nations produce like happiness, income, population count, research, etc?

for example, if you put more citizens into the medicine field, itll increase population (higher health) and happiness (a healthy population is a happy one), but lowers citizen income (taxes towards health care and research), etc?

I think it would rather be depending on buildings. Say you get +1 happiness per research point you create, or per industry, depending on the building. Keeping it simple is the essence to get this going at all

You would assign your citizens to gather or do differatn things. (Make babies, gather wood, gather gold, build, and farm)

^^ I would think that a lot of RTS games have that. Rise of Nations, Warcraft, etc... (Except to have babies )

It's a great idea as it gives the player more control over his nation.

I think you could make it simple by having a certain need for food to survive. So if you make surplus in food your nation grows faster, the more surplus you make. If you make not enough food, your population will shrink. If you want to finish a project for research badly, you can do so by putting more people into research.

Yes, there will be a donation box for a one time bonus.

As for admins, I have no idea.

I will find some sort of recognition for everyone who has brought input into this early stage of the game

You will be able to donate. Depending on how much, you will get one time bonuses for the donation, to "give back" for your contribution

I really think assigning "experts" to the game would make it stand out from the crowd.
Besides assigning citizens to research, you could have:
- merchants to improve bonuses from trade or give you extra trade slots.
-doctors to improve nations health.
-taxmen to improve tax revenue.
-military officers to strengthen your armed forces.
-and..?
The number of experts available could be a simple percentage of your overall population.
Prioritizing one would give you a loss in the others, allowing you to balance your output to suit your needs, but at the same time balancing the game so you can't choose one thing, without taking a loss on others. I really think it would help make you feel like you were more in control of the game.

I like the idea that some techs take actual time to research, besides costing something. I think it would make the game feel more realistic.
