A machine that makes your beverage give off high energy waves at a fast rate is probably undesirable.

You know, for a couple reasons.

in a post apocolyptic world, one man is transported from the microwave dimension.. to feast upon the remains of those who once lived. Rated R.

I like the idea of quickly cooling a beverage in a can, though beer would be my first priority. Waiting a half hour while my warm beer sits in the freezer and away from my mouth isn't a happy time. Somehow, we need to figure out how to produce the opposite of a microwave. I didn't pay much attention in high school because I didn't have to, I played football, but if memory serves microwaves make things warm because they excite electrons within our food. So, all we have to do is slow those electrons down and the beverage should get cold.

Right?
:LMAO:

Good poasting.

You've got a point.

It needs a better name, you just couldn't sell a reverse microwave. Oh, we could call it "ColdSnap" and the slogan could be "When you need it cold fast, just use ColdSnap." I like this. We can have a variety of colors and styles.

Ok, you guys figure out how to make it and I'll handle the marketing.

Well, it's not hard to take energy out of things. You just put them in the fridge/freezer and they lose heat and thus energy. The problem with a "reverse microwave" is that it implies that your food is giving off dangerous radiation. A machine like that, at least by my knowledge, is a theoretical impossibility since even using "low frequency waves" (which might, I don't know, slow down the electrons as they donate their energy to their waves) doesn't make sense because those aren't powerful enough. It would be like cooling down your beer with a radio.

The commercial will be this. You read the post you made that Kevin quoted. Then you smile and pose and announce that the reverse microwave has been created. Good news. Then you toss a football into it. It freezes, and I take it out of the reverse microwave and shatter it into a thousand pieces, some of which lodge in your eyes. Turn and laugh into camera as you sob uncontrollably into your blood-soaked hands. Fade to black.

What if you put your beer into a high pressure envrionment, then the electrons wouldn't be able to move as freely and they would slow down. Then your beer would get cold.

Or soundwaves, you think that high frequency soundwaves might suppress the movement of electrons?

I think the beer can wouldn't hold up to pressure.

That's not really how it works. Anything high frequency is carrying a lot of energy which would excite the electrons. I have no idea what putting beer under amazingly high pressure would do. It would probably turn it into beer vapour, which isn't really the desired effect.

The most viable way to make beer cold at a quicker rate is to put it in something colder than your freezer, I guess.
