Default george lucas.

So today, (well. yesterday, it's 1:00 am.) I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark, and something occured to me.
I think George Lucas secretly hates children. Take the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films for instance.
He tricks people into thinking those films are child friendly by adding humourous fight scenes, cute robots, cute children characters and stuff like that.
Then when children watch his films, they get scarred for life by images of corpses in various stages of decomposition (Indiana Jones trilogy, Starwars: episode 4), people's faces melting off (Raiders of the Lost Ark), people having their hearts torn out (Temple of Doom), people losing limbs, (every starwars film except episode 1) people lighting on fire, villains being cooked from the inside out (SW episode 3) etc.

it's obvious. the man clearly has some deep seeded hatred of children.

Aw heck. I saw "Raiders" when I was a little kid and I was absolutely fascinated by it. Then again, since his movies are pretty much always rated "PG" and up, they should be watched when you have family (or at least some adult) with you anyhow. But I have to tell ya, although I do see a lot of "cuteness" in Star Wars, I don't remember a lot of that in any Indiana Jones movie!! Simply having an annoying child star or a bunch of people waving scimitars at you does not count as "cute". I think of all the fantasy movies Lucas does, he takes "Jones" the most seriously (by that I mean "adult oriented").

Wow...I can't even imagine not being there if my kids were watching Star Wars or Indiana Jones for the first time. I mean...you're freakin' making history right there!

there's a chase scene in Raiders that takes place in Egypt somewhere. the background music is upbeat and silly. there's a monkey running around, silly men with swords, etc. it was a very cutesy scene.

Didn't someone get cut in half at their midsection and fall in a big hole at the end of Ep. 1?

Maybe I was so bored with that movie I started to imagine things.

Oh... I forgot that it wasn't on screen. You did see him come apart though.

Isn't cutting a person in half more intense than a limb anyways? You cut off my arm and maybe a leg and as long as I can get medical attention soon enough, I'll have a decent shot at living. But, you cut me in half and I'm dead, there's nothing that can be done to help.
