ok here it is, qui-gon jinn discovered after his death how to communicate with those still alive. he spoke with yoda, and became yoda's new master. so now yoda is qui gon's apprentice, no joke. it is yoda then who teaches obiwan the secret quigon imparted to him. the movies kinda skipped that, thenagain they skipped everythign involving the creation of the rebellion too, so...ya

that doesn't make any sense, because at the end of return of the jedi, anakin is up there too, right? i think they learn the technique after death... and i still believe it was only a means of transition. kind of like the sudden shift in costumes that the republic gets near the end of the movie, when we see the emperor and darth vadar on the star destroyer watching them build the death star.
I got home a little while ago from it.......wow

Must say, out of the three prequels, nothing even competes with the acting, story, and special effects of Episode III. Just a fantastic turning point [Anakin turning evil], and man that lightsaber duel between Obi Wan and Anakin was better than I thought. Hell the Emperor vs. Yoda fight was also total kickass.

The one "complaint" I had was the ending - I felt they compiled it too much to make sure the movie ends faster rather than go into much detail. They couldve easily lengthened the movie 20 more minutes to at least slow down things - like the early phases of the the Death Star. Also, the wookie battle wasnt what I hoped for - heck it made me forget that Chewbacca was in the flick considering he had 1 second of being notice [when Yoda left]. However, this is not to say it ended in shame - it was still a great ending with Uncle Owen and Aunt Peru holding Luke making the Episode IV title "A New Hope" a well printed one.

Excellent flick - I am so happy I got tickets to go see it tomorrow!
Dath Vader taking first breathe in his new suit is one of the most memorable scenes in any of the Star Wars movies. It's up there with "Luke, I am your father" and when Luke blows up the Death Star for the first time.
I wanna go see the movie again.

Am I the only one who didn't think the film was that great? Granted, it was much better than the preceding two, but it was still just as A.D.D. as ever...complete with rapidly cut action sequences that are supposed to be a substitute for actual swordplay. **sigh**

One of the things that saddened and bothered me:
Padme. This woman was the freakin' Queen of Naboo at one point. Shrewd, smart, politically savvy. Why did she suddenly become so ignorant and politically detached in this flick? She watches the downfall of the Senate like she's watching a freakin' basketball game. She sighs, "Well...I guess this is how democracy falls. With cheering." What?!? There is no vestage of the ruler she once was...the woman who in the first two shows risked her skin for the sake of her people. Her role in "Sith" was solely to lament and pine away at the fate of her progressively creepy Anie. She went from Queen of Naboo to a Sailor Moon wannabe (complete with skimpy outfit and skin tight pants).
My husband liked it, though. And for all that, it wasn't a bad movie. I guess I've always held out a torch that there'd be another Star Wars that would knock my socks off...and make me feel like a kid again. Maybe I'm just cynical in my old age, but this one didn't "do it" for me.
She wasnt that attached to the Senate in this one because she devoted herself to Anakin. He was her will to live. Not to mention she was pregnant and she didnt want to reveal it to the fellow members of the Senate - she wanted to keep it hidden as it would take her out of the Senate.

When Anakin became a Jedi, he didn't devote himself to Padme and disregard his duty to the Republic. Why should Padme? I don't think that Padme was so shallow that she couldn't both love Anakin and feel loyalty to her people at the same time...and yet the movie made her just plain dumb. Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean your IQ drops 100 points.
Just my opinion.
If she were to go to the Senate, they would've seen that she was pregnant and begin to question who was the father. If Anakin was announced as the father, he would've lost his position, as Padme said in EP III. In my personal opinion, the prophecy says that Anakin was sent to them because he was suppose to be the savior - kill the Siths and bring peace back, however Yoda did mention that perhaps the prophecy was misread. We all know that Luke was the savior for the Republic - he convinced his father to kill Palpatine in EP VI, but in order for Luke to be there, Padme needed to have the kids - which is where my belief comes in. Perhaps there was a prophecy for Padme - for her to meet Anakin, fall in love, produce the kids, and that would save the Republic in later years [as we all know]. Her purpose of living was just to have Luke and Leah - and the prophecy would go on to say that they would take down the evil Sith and bring back the Republic. While I dont know if this explains her absence in the Sentate in EP III - I hope you understand where I am getting at.

Then again, I could be all wrong on this too
