I use Crimson Editor for code since it has color-coded syntax as well as some other's mentioned in these pages...i'm a big HTML code guy so I use that alot. Otherwise I use Dreamweaver to create sites...the only graphic program I use and the only one I'll ever use is Photoshop because it's a god among graphics and I love it.

I just started my job yesterday and we're using frontpage, if you want something EXTREMELY easy use frontpage because it's like web design for mega noobs (no offense to anyone using it, it saves a lot of time).

It's basically like Microsoft Word for web designers.

I'm hooked on Eclipse for my Java now.
PHPEdit by WaterProof Software
TopStyle for CSS and HTML and general style design

And I wouldn't rip on FrontPage, one of the good aspects of it is that you can have an advanced interface for web design or a simplified one depending on how you configure your workspace. You could also dumb down Dreamweaver and it's tools to the caliber of FrontPage and vice versa.

JCreator for Java
Notepad2 for everything else, including web code.

I demand that Nodepad2 is added to the list!

Notepad, its what I started on 14 years ago to write HTML. I guess the colored text and auto-formatting is a really hot option for some people, but I just use TAB to indent my rows.

I use Dreamweaver's code window now, just for the ease of uploading files, and the ability to auto-update links. The WYSIWYG editor is very good too, great when I'm designing a layout. I suppose DW is sort of nub, but its an industry standard right now, so we just have to live with it.

Html + Php (for my webdesigning) = DreamWeaver.
C++ = Visual Studio 2003 or DevC++
Lua = Notepad++
