was just watching that ABC Earth Day Special, and the thought that I have had a number of times came up again:Shouldn't the government make more, and much harsher laws concerning the environment and the pollution issues?I think that it should be mandantory for Americans to had hybrid cars. It would, indeed, cost the gov't money, but isn't it worth millions of lives that will later be sacrificed? The gov't should provide each American who owns a car with a hybrid replacement, or say that by the year 2015, they must buy one, and get rid of their current gasoline-driven car.

You cant take my jeep from me... Besides if they actual had harsher restrictions most politicitions couldn't have ther jets, limos, adn joy ride hummers

and WE(humans) are not the cause of global warming.. it is simply a cycle of the earth so driving a tin can car with AA batteres in it wont save the world form the inevitable

Well, not sure which model you're talking about since the Cosworth - Ford partnership was for F1 racing and that Cosworth continues to make parts for Ford and other automobile companies (i.e. Subaru). But if you're thinkning of the standard Euro spec V4 they put out most likely because it was a European car and did not meat the safety requirements for US distribution.

you know why that won't work? bc american like big gas-guzzlers. auto manufacturers are going to supply what the market demands. so until americans change their mentality on cars, its NOT going to happen.

oh, i drive a Lexus IS250 (got a GREAT deal bc i work with toyota).

and i care about the environment... i do plan on getting a hybrid, and no, suv hybrids dont count. i stick with import manufacturers, too many friends with way too many stories of quality problems with the fords and chevys. no thanks.

Caliber SRT4

Enviroment? Heard of ULEV2 emissions certification? Cars built now are cleaner than ever, especially in the last 10 years.
