I drive the only car i can afford right now, one given to me by my dad, does about 10-12L per 100km. So i walk/ride as often as i can, unfortunately its an hour drive to uni and the public transport in Australia (well in QLD/NSW) is an absolute joke and it would take about 2.5 hours on a good run.

My dads 300 BHP focus gets 20-30 MPH so its not all big performance cars that do the guzzling.Pew pew ford?..not with 412 NM of torque

the track car (Ford XR3i) does about the same..and my mums Racing Puma can sometimes do a bit more.

It all depends how your driving it, if we really hammer the focus we get about 13 MPG but thats doing 140-150 down the motorway..if you drive to a limit (around 80MPH) then you generally get quite good economy despite what your driving.

over here it runs off emmisions, i believe its 225 and you have to pay £300-400 under that and it can be 100-200.

You defib'd this to tell us that?

Well in that case guess I'll chime in:
Truck this year, to be sold next spring, 1995 Nissan 4x4 V6 KC. I've had it for over ten years and it's time to get a new one. Get's about 15 MPG. Goes from a--->b very well.
Truck next sping will be a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. Get's about 20 MPG, Goes from a--->b even better.
Trucks cary stuff, 4x4 or AWD goes neer anywhere I want to go.
Global warming? The debate goes on and on . . . do I like smog -NO!
My daily commute is a CBR 600 F4i. 40-50 mpg depending on how how I ride her. Will spank even Dvets fancy schmancy car, and get's better gas mileage, and is more fun. 1/4 mile 10.7 seconds @ 126 MPH. Curves are where the fun is at and seperates the men from the boys. Few cagers (car drivers) know how to drive well enough to even want to keep up without killing themselves. I need another track day . . .

1981 Pontiac Trans Am. 8 MPG downhill with a steep tailwind.

My first car was a 1961 Ford 4 door with a 289 V8. And yes, it does not have a muffler. :P

I do care about the environment. On longish trips, I take my grandmother's Honda Accord.
