Default Can you drive a stick?

I just read this: Shiftless crooks clutch over stick.. | Oddly Enough | Reuters and was pleasantly amused by it.

So, I was wondering, can you drive a stick shift?

I can. Most cars here only have manual transmission, automatic is a luxury. As a matter of fact, I prefer a stick shift to a manual shift, except maybe in the mountains.

Same in NZ, most cars are manual transmission, and Panda how is the gas mileage on that bad boy?

My old man wouldn't let me drive until I learned to drive stick. I think it ought to be required in order to get a license. My son's first car will be a stick.

Yep. I like it because I generally have better control of my speed, and I dont have to brake as much.

In Iceland you have to practice and take the test on a stick car. I haven't started practicing yet (will do this fall) but I can drive a stick already.

ROFL, like the best baby xD my laser hammors around the tight streets of brisbane. Also you get better fuel econermy witha manual and you can go higher in gear whilst autos are auto tuned to change up and down gears depending on the revs.

Most people in the UK drive manual, autos are more popular over in the states by the looks of it.
