Default 2007 Toyota Camry

Nice....oh man that's nice. I'll probably hop on one as soon as they're out!

I'm not a big Camry guy, but that does look nice.

Hard for me to make a good judgement on it. The Camry's have always had a rather simple, but sophisticated styling. But I don't know, I have never been a fan of them. If someone wanted to give me one I would gladly take it though.

Yeah....never have been a big Camry fan myself except for the 3rd generation ones. I knew when those hit the market....that it's styling would be in for a good while. It's style and design were simple yet ahead of their time. I currently drive the latest style Altima. I love it...but man...too many people have it. I've felt like trading in my Altima for a Camry but nah....just can't bring myself to doing it.

If this new Camry does bring something worthwhile though...I'll trade in my Alty next year to get one. They'll start selling early next year, '06.

i've never understood why Camry's are so popular. ever since about '98 they've lost their appeal to me.

That picture's pretty blurry, but from what I can see, it looks good.

Yeah...after '98 is when the 4th generation ones hit the market. Nasty looking rides....POSs really. The 3rd generation ones were sweet though. You can see those in the road today, and if they're well kept....they still blend in well with other current models from different mfgers.

They're meant to be that way. I'm sure you knew that already. Those are just teaser pics released by Toyota. They don't want to ruin all the surprise.

Hell yeah it does. It's made from the Camry platform so it should.

Just like saying, "Doesn't the Lincoln Navigator look awfully similar to the Expedition?" or "Doesn't the Infiniti G-Coupe look awfully like the Nissan Z?"

There are a lot of luxury cars that have huge similarities to their dubbed down or main platform models. That's cause they use the main one and juice it up to make a luxury version of it in their luxury line. Chevy-Cadillac, Ford-Lincoln, Honda-Acura, Toyota-Lexus, Nissan-Infiniti, Dodge-Chrysler, etc...

Yeah I guess so, but I never expected that from Lexus. To me it was always just a GM trademark.

But it's not though kewl. All companies do it. All of them. Lexus, Infiniti, Lincoln, Chrysler, Lincoln....

Heck...take a look at the VW Toureg and then look at the Porshe Cayenne. Looks exactly the same...except for the emblems and a few other minor details. But...Porshe used the Toureg platform. Trust me...it's not something you shouldn't expect from Lexus, they aren't to be excluded. It saves them money by not having to remake a platform.

It's easier and cheaper to use one platform and fix the body up a bit to make a more luxurios version of it.

That's the ONLY one Lexus used a pre-existing manufacturing template for though, you won't find another car company using only one.

I am sure that is not true. There are many high-end cars that many people haven't heard of before, and it is impossible to keep up on every single car manufacturer.
