Default My Obsession...

So, a little known fact about me is that I have an obsession with a certain kind of car.... yeah, I'm probably a huge girl for saying this, but I have an obession with vintage minis... not the new ones, mind you because those are crappy and evil and old minis kick new minis' butts in roadtests. I love old minis like nothing else, and I am starting to save money so that I can get one! Right now, this is my dream mini: http://www.westpaminis.com/images/ywchecks_6_.JPG
It is quite possibly the cutest thing that I've ever seen! Anyway, I'm posting this to see if anyone else has the same love of these kickass little cars and to see if anyone knows any sites with good info about them... (other than minimania, which is like my Mini Bible...) Ok.. that's all! Thanks!

i really like monte carlos....but instead of buying an affordable one....i think im going to light one on fire, cut the breaks, and then paint it **** brown.....then im gonna show it to my parents...who will love it....spend an extra 1000 dollars on it and buy it instead of a perfectly good nice new monte carlo.....*******s.

Oh dear.... Do I sense some resentment toward the parental units? Don't bring your monte carlo into my thread! This is about my vintage mini obsession, damnit! lol...
I saw my first REAL mini shortly after I turned 16... one of my friends, actually, the one stationed in Iraq right now, took me over to his house and said that he had something to show me... he took me out to the garage, and there it was.... a red mini clubman station wagon, the greatest car I'd ever seen! (Minis are extremely appealing to me because I'm only 5' tall and other cars just seem so big!) Anyway, I sat in the driver's seat (which was all cute and British and on the right) and I fell instantly in love... I've wanted one ever since!

The older Mini Coopers are kick ass in my mind....and are great for gas milage now a-days... but it wouldn't be first on my list in my dream garage..but if i ever saw one for sale at a cheap price and got rid of my obcession of luxery exotic sports cars....and but of course the muscle cars. Then i would definatly look for a Mini...by the way, nice Comaro there Ghost....68 is it?

Indeed, it is quite pretty.... But oooooooooooooo... I LOVE MINIS SO MUCH!!!! And like you said, old minis are so incredibly fuel efficient. I know I'm weird for loving them so much, and for picking one over a muscle car, but it's the girl in me that just screaming out, "The muscle car is hot, but that mini is just SO DAMNED CUTE!!!!!"

haha..well i imagine if they break down they wouldn't be to hard to fix....i would imagine that sense there motors are measured in CC's that they would be realitively similar to a lawn mower...just a helluve lot better and more powerfull.....and as for the look i do have to agree they are like looking at a little puppy dog haha..boy am i gonna get critisized for saying that but... they are cool...and when you watch Bourne Identity then you have a whole new respect for them

No, but when Bart gets home from Iraq we have plans to watch it! I can't wait! I've heard good things! I always said that the new version of The Italian Job would be better with vintage minis... no one ever told me that there was a Michael Caine original until I was on the phone with Bart the other night... and I squealed so loudly that I almost made him go deaf! So yeah, we're watching it when he gets home... he should be back in the states by the middle of next month, but who knows when he'll be on leave... *shrug* But when he does, there will be the viewing of the original Italian Job!

Capitana, the original Italian Job is fun, but there is a major cliffhanger (no pun intended) at the end....well, once you see it, PM me and i'll explain what was 'supposed' to happen.

Lol, I don't want to ruin the film by giving the 'ending' away....

I personally enjoyed the remake more, but the original had its own panache.
