Default Went to the car show last weekend...

And I have to say Ford had the best show hands down. They had the Hybrid Escape, Focus Saleen, Ford GT, Mustang GT, Mustang, and Mustang Convertible

Now let me talk to you about the GT. Oh my what a car, I probably stood there for 10 minutes just looking it at. A dark navy blue paint with white rally stripes, I can't describe what I felt when I saw that car but I probably could of popped a woody it was so beautiful. Dang man. Such a great looking car. Also the F-350 King Ranch is the greatest truck ever. The Green on tan colors look nice, but the inside is truly amazing. The leather on the seats is like a saddle leather comfy as a cloud.

Honda had the Ridgeline there on display and I have to say it looks exactly like a mini-Avalanche, except the front grill & lights and interior. It has a tailgate that either swings side to side or up and down, very handy. Also there's a trunk the trucks bed, which would be very useful for construction workers. I may look at one of these things in a few years, pretty solid truck overall thought.

I Saw the corvette also, and boy it looks ten times better in person. Most notably the back, where there is some retro 60's vette with the popped out dome rear window. It a little detail you can't see in pictures but you notice is person, looks very nice. Chevy also had the SSR with the corvette engine in it. A very nice looking truck, but I can't see myself paying the $70 000 CDN price. :-\

The Cobalts a nice looking sporty car, the Montana SUV is very nice overall, the Solstice is nice overall but has some ugly parts i.e. the front grill, the Hummer H3 is gross, the Hummer SUT is okay but still wouldn't buy one, all the Caddy's were gorgeous, the Uplander is ugly in the commercials and it's still ugly in person, and Buick had this weird SUV type hybrid that looked dumb yet good I'll have to find a picture of it. It was crazy.

What else was there...They had a $236,000 Benz and it didn't have ropes around it, boy do they have balls. Oh yeah, Lexus had their sports car, I can't recall the name/number, but boy it had an amazing pearly white paint job on it, which probably had 20 layers of clear coat on it, that went so well with it's simple yet 'sexy' lines. I'd buy one is I had $110,000. And I think that's all I have to say about the car show.

Sounds like fun . I'm hoping to go to one in the fall later this year.

Anywho, I'd love to have seen that GT. I've seen a silver one w/white stripes in a dealership showroom but I didn't go in :/. I'd also like to see the new Corvette up close. Was it the new Z06 you saw or the basic Vette? And this may sound strange coming from me, but I'd love to see the Ridgeline. I've seen demonstrations of it on TV and, although not as powerful as others, it had a lot of nifty features, like that extra bay in the bed you mentioned. I'd say if they put a larger engine in it with more power, as well as beefed up the suspension of course, that'd be a killer all around truck. I also assume that it won't be long before the competitors will pick up on the Ridgeline's features.

No they just had the basic vette, but oh well.

Is the Ridgeline suppose to hit 2006?

The battery's in the cars had to be disconnected here because of fire regulations. So they couldn't show any of the electrical stuff, kinda sucked. But there was aftermarket companies there blasting their systems out in their cars, so I think the people at the car companies said the batteries had to be disconnected so they didn't wear out the batteries by showing everyone. >

I just went to the Chicago Auto Show yesterday. It was awesome. I never thought I'd see a Porsche Carrera GT in person. That car was amazing. I just stood there watching it turn on the stand. I also liked the Aston Martin Vanquish, Chrysler Firepower, Ford GT40, ZO6, and the Ferrari F430 and Scaglieti.

The Viper SR10 Coupe was bad ass looking.
And the Mazda section was very solid all round, along with Ford.

I feel so sorry for Honda. Ridgeline is going to bomb SOOOOO BAD. I really do feel genuine pity, though I dislike the company...

they're freaking successful in their car profits so they probably won't dent financially much

One year later, I finally stumbled across this SUV. The Buick Enclave.

That Enclave is in production now. I saw the GMC version (Acadia) of it yesterday when I went to wash my truck. Really sexy in black, if competes with the Infiniti and Nissan crossover's in looks I'd say.

I still prefer the original GT's, i dont know why, they just have that nostalgia feel, id still not say no to a new one.

Ive seen many GT's, the clutch on them is basically like trying to kick down a brick wall..i dont know if its changed on the new one, i hope so, only got to have a quick..er...scoot in the old one.

Ive got a few car meets this year, hopefully going to Ford Fair, maybe Trax or Ford Spares and Parts show.

We have a good showing of meets over here, my dads organised one at the local ford dealership nearby, where i have (just) secured a job placement.
