Default Which to take out first: Sentry or Spy?

Say youre a lone engineer guarding a point. Somehow a spy gets past you and saps your dispenser and sentry. If you try to kill the spy, the time wasted will be enough for the sapper to destroy your sentry and dispenser, leaving your defense vulnerable for a minute or even more. However, if you fix the sentry, he can just sap it again since youre so busy fixing the senty.

How do you guys handle the situation?

well normally the spy will zapp the sentry and run, sometimes I do try to pursue them but they cloak and I end up loosing them in the chaos, so now I don't bother and just repair my sentry back to full health.

^^ the thing is, if the engy is all alone, then the spy can afford to stick around and make sure the sentry stays zapped. spies have done that to me often when im alone, and as a spy, i do the same as well.

Make sure I dont see anyone behind me and then kill the sapper. Most the time they think "Shit son, Im so 1337! I just sapped his sentry; time for me to my backstab on!" Thats when they realize the sappers not on the gun anymore...

I don't know how many times this has happened to me... So, what I do is, I blow the sapper and sometimes I kill the spy too. He keeps giving you points if he keeps sapping. So why not let him play it out... =P

I swing the wrench like crazy to get the sappers off - those (engy constructs) are my babies!!!
From playing from the beta to current - the level of play has greatly increased - more often I have found that the spy will stick around and continue to sapper (lame-o pts) - so wrench like crazy IMO.

I normally get the sapper off and then defend my turrent. I wont go chasing after the spy. Only played ofr a couple of hours but i tend to go around shooting my own team to check, after being knifed/ had my turret sabotaged while i was upgrading it I suck with the shotty atm so need alot more practice. I shot some guy at close range twice from behind, about 1 metre away, then i got him about 3 times at medium range and he didnt die. I was really annoyed when that happened. Suppose its ebcause im used to toher games where shotguns are 1//2 hit kills
