Australian pre-order information

PC IGN has posted information about the pre-ordering of Quake Wars in Australia.

Australia, March 29, 2007 - From April 4th onwards, Australian gamers will be able to pre-order their copy of Splash Damage and id Software's highly anticipated multiplayer shooter Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The pre-order campaign is available at EB Games and GAME (the retail chain formerly known as Games Wizards) stores, and "only a few thousand pre-order packs will be offered in Australia".

Why pre-order? Securing your copy now will give you access to advance username registration, allowing you to secure your nick of choice right now. You'll also receive a Quake Wars poster (each retail chain has their own unique poster to give away), as well as the first two collector's cards from the full set of twelve. Each card features artwork and information on a Strogg or GDF vehicle or deployable, so you may even learn a thing or two. For instance, did you know that the Strogg Tormentor Attack Craft's propulsion system is based on "4 gravitonic repulsors mounted on dual-opposed steerable actuators"? Neither did we.

When the game itself ships in Australia, it will come in two varieties, with a standard edition, as well as a Limited Collector's Edition available. The Collector's Edition will, as you would expect, boast fancy packaging (a.k.a. "premium packaging"), and will come with the remaining ten collector's cards, a bonus DVD and other goodies.
