There will be 4 campaigns with 3 maps each, set in different locales. The XP only stays only within the campaign, and then resets. If you leave the server and come back within the same campaign, you XP will save.
Once the game is out with default maps, most likely servers will combine the campaigns so the XP carries a bit longer. Our ET server has 2 10 map campaigns, some stock but majority custom maps. For QW it might have 2x6 maps campaigns until the custom maps start coming out.

Still kinda odd when you work hard to get a star so you have finally another reward and then it vanishes again. I know this is like in ET, but with the possibilities of persistent tracking like they have for the ranks etc, this could have been handled slightly different as well.

Agreed.Wils said today that by the time the game is released, they probably will increase the XP points gained for various actions so you have a realistic chance to gain abilities and ranks quicker within a campaign.I still prefer longer campaigns though where you can try to spread the XP among various classes. As it currently is,for example a medic will get 1 XP for a medpack and I believe 2 max for revive whereas on ET is 3.I can gain up to 450 XP and level 4 playing medic on ET in a single map just by reviving and pushing the team forward on at least 12 vs 12 battles. So I hope they adjust the XP rewards accordingly,it would add a bit more to the excitement.

Well the XP dilemma would be better solved by lowering the requirements, not upping the points. The big problem is the spread around and some pretty unclear boundaries. Like you have your current class, plus 4 other categories where you points go. So what is counted where and when is a bit "fuzzy" at best.

I think the XP system is really messed up for now.The revive actually only gives you one point, plus if youre Strogg and create a spawn host you dont get xp at all.The other night I selected a mission as engie and it had me go and fix a deployable.By the time I got there another engie finished the job but I got XP for it as well. The other thing I'd like to see is a similar indicator as on ET.You had 3 columns with 4 levels each that got filled up as you progressed.

That indicator is there, in the limbo menu, if you select a class and then the second tab (not where you select the weapon, the other tab). It is not very visible and rather hard to grasp, since you have literally only the bars there, no xp values (while the manual talks about XP values).
