Default IE: border around flahs content

Hey folks,

After some Windows Update, IE adds a border around any flash content and you need click on it to activate the movie.

I think i fixed that (at least here, for TotalCRY.com) ... It seems that all SWF files in the frontpage don“t have any border now in IE ...

If you have any issue or error message, let me know please.

There's a FireFox addon that does the same thing, which is great for blocking Flash Ads. So I wouldn't be too worried about it.

This is a leagal issue. I don't know the details, but browsers aren't allowed to play automatic interactive contents anymore. Some company got a patent on that.

So Microsoft had to make a change and requieres now an user interaction, bevor playing the content. This doesn't infringe the patent anymore.

Opera did the same thing with the newsest Version. Don't know about FF, but if they don't wanna get into trouble they should do the same thing.

To bad, that we have to suffer because of some stupid patents by some stupid company.

Did you use objectSwap.js Mack? That works a treat for getting around that problem.

That's interesting. I'm kind of glad. It's not too annoying to get sites you want to play, and it keeps annoying ads away from you.
