Question Mac/PC/XB360 compatibility

Hi

Say three people have CoD4 installed but each person has it on a different system - can they all play together on the same servers?

Thanks!

No, that only works on "Games for Windows" games and must be running xbox live.

Now if COD4 does come in MAC compatibility then yes with the PC as they are both considered the same platform.

As far as I know, there is no game that is multiplatform compatible yet. But I know for a fact they are working on a balancing system so that PC, PS3, and XBox 360 might be able to link up and play together fairly. Here's to hoping they find something soon.

I ask because my bro has an Xbox 360, a friend has a PC and I have a Mac. It would be fantastic if we could all get together on the same server. If I understand you correctly, then we can't currently play together?

(Aspyr are working on a Mac version of CoD4 btw)

Lets hope they can get a system developed so all gamers can play together!

Yes, the Mac and PC will be able to play together. However, COD4 is not a "Games for Windows" game, and therefor not cross platform compatible with the XBox 360.

Shadow Run can have pc and 360 cross-play.

CoD4 was ment to be a PS3 and 360 cross but it cause to many problems for live users. Remember Microsoft got sued for like 3 million or some BS like that cause live was down. Most people i talk to on live say it was caused by them trying to cross.

In short:
some games- yes.
CoD4- no.

I remember a televised tournament on Shadowrun with Xbox 360 players VS PC and the console gamers won.

To even out the playing field console games get aim assistance. So they may not be able to fast twitch it, but if they see you it's most likely going to be a head shot.
