iw3mp.exe error.......

wow... how gay can this get... i have been able to play perfectly fine until now... i started up the game and clicked on "join game" when the game crashes. i have no idea why it does this as i have not made any changes to my computer. i have scoured the internet in search of a solution but none of them work.

do you guys have any solutions?

Perhaps a screenshot of the error would it be good? Or does it just says iw3mp.exe error
Are you running with the latest patch?

EDIT: People are saying it's a problem with the mssmp3.asi file. Perhaps re-naming it and then trying to run the game and see how that goes?

hmm it didnt let me screenshot but it just says "iw3mp.exe has stopped working"
i will go to the activision sote and download the file and see if replacing it works. i already tried renaming it

I had to rename my mssmp3.asi to mssmp3.bak to get the game to work. It is in you "D:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\miles\" folder.

-Hardware and Sound
-Sound
-Recording Tab
-Right Click in window, chose "Show Disabled Devices"
-"Setero MIX"appeared, Right Click and choose enable

i have the same problem but i can play the game for about 20mins then i get the iw3mp.exe has stop working error come up so i enabled the stereo mix but i still get it come up so this dont work for every1
