Default Reloading times?

As I was playing earlier on, I was (unsurprisingly perhaps) killed by a guy with a P90. However, something on the killcam caught me by surprise in that in the second before he shot me, he was reloading and was only just inserting the mag when he shot me. Is this a bug in the game or is it designed so that you can shoot whilst reloading and just cancel the reloading sequence? It was an incredibly annoying turn of events (plus I was shooting him for a good while before I went down and he didn't seem to register a single hit (even though my indicator was flashing).

If you are not empty, reloading is just a video action (well it does fully resupply you) that can be canceled by any other action such as sprint, climb, throw, knife, or fire. Even empty you can cancel the reload, just you won't have anything to shoot until you stop the new action.

It's not like 2142 were you're tossing out an old magazine for a new one.

How very annoying. I've become used to the fact that when someone is reloading they're not able to shoot me with the gun they're reloading at the time.

iv noticed this to, but ive also don a little testing with the g36c as an example. basiucally what i found out is the last part of the reloading squence, which in the g36c is cocking the thingy on the side, u can cancel that part and cut about half a sec of ur reload time and still have a full mag as if u watched the full sequence. ive noticed this w a few other guns to, ill try it w the p90 tonight(just got mine this morning).

It's easy most people reload BEFORE they are actually empty so when you reload and get jumped but have several rounds left you may fire...

I reload every time after a kill even if 75% of the mag is full(unless its a LMG). You never know when you'll run into some next or if there will be more then one.

(I have it for xbox360 so it might be differant on somethings but im pretty sure the reload aspect of it is still the same)

Yeah, when you reload and you're not yet empty you're not wasting ammo like in 2142. It just takes the amount spent from your cache.

Even in 2142, I still reload when I didn't need to yet, it was a force of habit since Counter-Strike days.

You can cut off a lot of the animation by sprinting the moment the clip is inserted back into the gun. Some guns have a noticeable difference while it doesnt change anything for others. And its possible to stop reloading the gun by switching to a different weapon just like in 2142.

o rly? gotta make reloading a habit now. im used to 2142 to where if its in the clip, its wasted. I kinda preferred it that way since you had to decide whether or not it was a good idea to reload.

Yea timmy, especially when you start to reload an LMG by habit and you realize that it takes longer to reload that damn thing then it does to chase your lagtastic hyperactive ass down.
