BUT.. the mac is much more stable, as I can do many things at once.. video editing, animation.. plus, out of the box you're up and running in 10 mins doing what ever you want..

yes it has pc hardware, but in a Traditional sense, it harnesses its power alot better than a pc does....

but.. i ran parallels on the macpro and tried to run the demo for 2142, and it didnt work.. the key is to use bootcamp, as it uses all of the computers power to run windows, not just running windows in a window..

I use BOTH macs and PCs.. i prefer PCs for gaming and all the fun with updating and crap... but if you ever REALLY SPENT SOME TIME ON A MAC.. its amazing.. 1 click to update.. no patches, no registry problems.. they just work!
maybe i wasn't being clear enough, so i'm gonna tell you, that i own a MAC _and_ PC and i work in a company using MACs only, we just got one PC and that's the only one for the shipping stuff as UPS doesn't develop its shipping software for MACs.
so, i really know what's going on and i stick with my "PC for games" and "MAC for work, email ect." thing.

thus, you'd better put this "you're the type of mac hater that has never used one for what its made to do" back in your holster, pal.

and by the way, it's bogus that macs don't need patching. considering the fact that MS owns a whopping 90% of the pc market, it goes w/o saying that those window based systems are way more affected by virus attacks/mailware whatsoever, compared to a MAC OS based systems with 1 to 3% market share.

put it back in your holster.. HA.. so what do you do in Germany?? write catchy movies lines like that?

i didnt mean to start a war and all that, but I'm used to people saying how horrible macs are and all that.. but yes.. go PC if you wanna game.. but unless you use macs for more then email and spreadsheets.. why use them? stick to PCS.. especially if you love random errors, updating this and that.. random crashes... AWESOME! but i would say soon we'll see more and more games for mac... which isnt a bad thing

You have to admit, they are built for performance.. and EA recently announced to devote more resources in the Mac world for games..

so what ev... keep on rocking the free world..

your're right. macs aren't horrible at all. i've omitted mentioning all things you can do with and just named two (working & email). the major reasons for using macs is the software & stability and they're less vulnerable for security issues. our designers at work are used to working with macs a lot but this is not due to the performance; basically, it's the software and stability of macs they need, you can even work 24/7 without having a crash or rebooting. the MAC OS is just awesome.
the best, you don't need admins to see about your mac but on a windows based platform you get conned once a serious problem comes up.

i can't quite figure out whether it was a serious question but no, i don't write movie lines. i work for an ipod/mac accessory wholesaler being the # 1 in supplying EU countries including apple. therefore, i'm in the know what's going on.

i'm sorry, i can't agree. it's quite the opposite. i think there's no point in fighting anymore. my points of view were pretty clear-cut so i stop posting and discussing about this topic here.
