Default First Strike Mod update


Mod update for First Strike.

Apologies to all for lack of updates recently, the team have been incredibly busy with tweaking gameplay, maps, texturing and coding.

Today's update centres around some upcoming models soon to be ingame and an insight int our gameplay.

So onto the models! Firstly we have renders of the Imperial Class Star Destroyer as superbly modelled by FSDev| Luuri.

Synonomous with the opening credits in A New Hope this will be the Imperial Flagship and once complete will contain hangars, forward bridge and other bonus features!




Next we have the Gallofree Cargo Transport. You are probably familiar with this Ship being seen escaping Hoth in the Empire Strike Back.
Crafted by FSDev| HaVoC and sweetly textured by our very own FSDev| Rybot.

I will humbly apologize when that happens! It's sad but it seems on average the game(meaning any game) is dead by the time the hot mod becomes complete for it. I really do enjoy it when a mod gets not only developed but distributed to the public before the game is obsolete. I only played BF1942 because of Desert Combat. I only played Half-Life because of Counter-Strike. I played BF2 for two years before a decent mod(BOMSF) became available. I am just one of the many who have been teased by 3-D models and content involving Stargates or Star Wars. So many have failed where you intend to succeed, and its tough now after watching several promising mods go tits-up. Please forgive me for being a sceptic

Thats fair enough I can understand your concerns, but hopefully the game wont be in mothballs completely by the time we release. We are all working as many hours as possible with this to get it released for people to play within a certain timeframe. Just so many hours you can work in a day on it.
I hope you wont be too dissapointed waiting awhile longer.

"A while" is a noncommittal term that allows even total project abandonment. Even Transformers Quake 2 didn't go this long without playable content.

I don't mind waiting, but I would really enjoy an estimated date on when I could try the game out; that way I don't keep thinking "Just a while longer and first strike will be out."
