Doorstops is back with another journal update, this time only a video; plus a long long update of course.

Well its journal time for me once again. I don't have any flashy pictures to show you today. Most of what I want to talk about doesn't necessarily need them.
Todays Journal post will entail gameplay and a few other tidbits. So, let me start with gameplay as it is currently. I will use LV as my test subject. The DCON lost village map is fundamentally the same as its old predecessor with exception. Now it looks better graphically than its old name sake. The BF2 engine made it look so much nicer than what it used to in the DC Lost Village. Some of the statics were open and a lot of them were closed off. As an experiment of sorts and to change up the game play after listening to a lot of the fans on our site complain about closed statics, I decided to open them up. I've created some remakes of some of the original buildings used on LV and some that weren't there before. Reason being that the 42 style houses took away from the middle eastern themed map that it was supposed to be. Now it is middle eastern themed with all the buildings to match it.
Now this introduces some newer elements not seen before in BF2 and in this map.. Infantry now can hide and ambush anywhere. You can if, your lucky enough or a really good sniper, take your opponent out in some areas through about 3 statics worth of windows.. so thats 6 windows worth and about 2 alleys away. I have a short video that illustrates this. This is staged mind you to give you an idea of what I am talking about.
