Default NoFear Gaming vs IceMen

Last Sunday at 21.00 CET we saw #NoFear.Gaming take on IceMen in the group stages of the ESL Conquest Summer Cup. Both teams have 3 points to sit top of the group after 1 game each, though IceMen's victory over Voodoo Gaming impresses more than NoFear's victory over NextLevel, and also puts them in a great position to advance over my favourite for this group. This is a game that could go either way on both maps, Strike at Karkand and Mashtuur City. On Karkand, the key flag is Marketplace which spawns a tank, vodnik and the commander assets, which is the only armour that can oppose the USMC tank and APC.
On Mashtuur City the homebases are key, spawning a jeep, tank and APC, and both North Bridge and Road Construction offer a route into the homebase, and there is a bleed with 3 flags.

How focused are you on this competition compared to others you are competing in?
Currently this competition isn't high in our priorities as we are training for i28 in conquest rather than practising for this cup. We are also more focused on the Clanbase Infantry Ladder and the ESL Infantry Cup in preparation for Hardware LAN.

How have you been making different preparations for this match compared to any other?
Luckily Mashtuur City is a map that we also compete on at i28, so we have done some practise for this map unlike our last game vs Nextlevel where we won thanks to a strong performance on Karkand after completely ignoring FuShe Pass. We will just prepare on the day like for any other game.

Have you been keeping the same lineup throughout the competition, and are there any changes for this match from your normal side?
We have a large squad, probably too large, though we are always looking to strengthen our squad and one disadvantage of this is that we do not practise with our starting lineup always, though their is lots of competition for places, especially in our infantry and also with the APC, so we aren't sure exactly who will play from our infantry. It's possible that our new recruit Shifty will come into the linup, but we haven't decided that yet.

What do you think will be the key to winning this match?
I think that we need a strong performance on Karkand on our server where we will have the ping advantage, similar to the NextLevel game, and at least 1 good round on Mashtuur. If we can take tickets out of Mashtuur we will have a very good chance. Our infantry is our mainstrength, and we have a good commander, so hopefuly we can utilise that.

What do you expect from IceMen? Do you think you have what it takes to be victorious?
I expect IceMen will be a strong side as they have proved to be when we have played them in pcws, and I expect that they will have practised hard for this match. However, I would be disappointed if we don't come out with a victory from this game.

Is there anything you want to add?
Good luck, and I hope that we have a good game. Also thanks to Reefer at NoFear, QPad and Rock Direct who will be supporting us at i28.

How focused are you on this competition compared to others you are competing in?
This is now the most important cup now which we are playing.

How have you been making different preparations for this match compared to any other?
Yeah, we actually chose the players instead of first come first served!

Have you been keeping the same lineup throughout the competition, and are there any changes for this match from your normal side?
No, basically we just have to cope with the people who bother to show up.

What do you think will be the key to winning this match?
Lucky spawn points and grenades.

What do you expect from NoFear? Do you think you have what it takes to be victorious?
We expect them to show up and how it goes from there I have no idea. I hope the money I sent to few of their players tilts the scale to our advantage =)

NoFear took the win by 228-149 tickets in an exciting game
