Huge ping spikes since 1.3?

Has this happened to anyone else lately?

It seems like ever since 1.3 came out, i've been getting random ping spikes, and it goes up to like 400-900+.. ****es me off because i'll be flying or something, and then all of the sudden i'm on the ground... and what am I supposed to say? "I just got a huge ping spike!!! wtf"...... everyone's like.... riiiiighhttt.....

It always seems to happen at the worst times too... like when im going downwards at a 90 degree angle w/ full afterburners getting ready to bomb a tank or something

Our router recently crapped out on us, (the wireless part, not hardwired) and I figured it was just the router causing it.. So we got a brand new router.. same **** is happening..

BUT, I heard a bunch of people with the same problem as me..

So I was just wondering.. am I the only one with this problem after 1.3? Is this yet ANOTHER effect of the 1.3 patch?

Sometimes it happens like every minute! It gets unplayable because of these spikes! I also have never had a problem before 1.3

Yeah, I think ping times have gone up and frames have gone down with v1.3. The game is still playable, but I think people that have connection problems on their end cause the server to have weird communcation to my machine.

All my favorite servers have gone up in ping times, when they used to ping 30, they are often 60->90 now.

Yeah that too... it's really rare to find a ping <60



And then those ping spikes...


they haven't been occuring that much lately, and they aren't THAT bad... but still bad (350-450 or so... lol)

Yeah, the problem has reduced. I think some server operators have gotten some small workarounds inplace.

I've been getting random "There is a problem with your connections" when I'm flying and it will last about 30 seconds and then I'll just end up dead on the ground. It sucks, lol.

This has happened to me since 1.0

It's been happening to me too. On two different machines, in two diff. cities, and two diff isp companies.

That means you have a bad connection, it's not bf2.

on my clan server I have a ping of 20-30 however I have noticed since 1.3 that every so often ill have a lag spike where the ping goes to 900 or so for a half a second this ends with my screen pointing in a completely diffrent direction then it was a fraction of a second ago its pretty annoying and gets me killed every once in awhile it dosn't happen that often though.

yeah i get huge lag spikes sometimes,like 1 time i went from 14 to a 500 ping.i do use wireless connection though.

keep you dumb comments to your self
we manage more than one game server
and since the VERY SECOND they were upgraded to patch 1.3
hmmm . . .EVERY ISP IN AMERICA went AFU?
we track and log our players pings
and yes to the OP = we ALL get PING spikes that DRIVE us ALL nuts
does not matter where we live. or what server we play on
we are convinced it is probably related to the constant server crash problems

Man the same happends ive pretty much quit the game alltogether now since the loading is rediculous. I have time to play 5 rounds of CSS before im done loading bf2.

But YES i do get huge lag spikes often with bf2, i do recommend not to ure wireless since i get spikes all the time when i do use it.
