Default bf2142 mark that artillery

For those who weren't looking few steps forward on the spectatives of bf2142 which means 98% of this forum, I bring you all my ideas for the artillery in bf2142. I know... the artillery in bf2 is a helpful tool, it only has one flaw, the enemy can sometimes escape from being hit from artillery strike. In bf2142 its all fixed, here are my plans "I already emailed it to the director of bf2"

The commander will shoot a death ray uppon the enemy's location, what I mean by death ray, its a laser coming from the sky with a concentrated beam of power disintegrating everything and everyone.

Here is an analogy demonstration.

When the commander in the opposed team feels like shooting down artillery, you will meet whats on the image below.




Now for those whom were affected by the commander's spell he casted, you wont have to worry about escaping, because the commander is guaranteed for a killing point.

Clever huh?

Balancing is going to be the biggest issue for the game. In 130 years war will be very different than now, killing methods will be almost foolproof and most of the combat will be automated and excecuted from range.

How will they overcome cloaking soldiers? Probably some lame paper rock scissors method whereby other soldiers have radars or something to pick up people who are cloaked. So one begs the question "why have cloaking then"? Same goes for Mechs, the things should be more indestructable than a tank is now, yet foot soldiers will have some magic peice of equipment which neutralises tanks.

And yeah, it'd be more than likely there would be some sort of death beam style artillery which is deployed from very high altitudes.

oooh, I think I've heard of this one before. Make it an orbitting ion cannon like from C&C. That would be so cool.

Also, the current planes fire the same thing as the arty in BF2. So in BF2142, the planes would need to fire the same thing as the death ray arty.

Hah!

The replacement for the F35 modern jet is replaced by a flying saucer designed by science fiction writers in the 50 's.

The objective of BF2142 is whom ever has possession of the electromagnetic bomb, the player who activates such thing would make 32 kills instant if he plays on a 64 player server, but what about the teamkills :P

Simio nice use of independence day. But to beat the arty (like in the movie) you would have to drive a jet up into the arty just as it is about to fire!!

scan and certain vehicles, such as the detectors in starcraft.

you may never make a weapon in a game wich is unvincible and wich you can't escape, this is why it's a game, your idea is just plane stupid and unbalancing .

FYI , there was already a game where they had something like this, C&C renegade

If you want to get realistic about it ... an orbital laser cannon is not exactly instant. It has to reposition, then there is the travel time for the laser beam, which is very short, but from orbit it isn't quite instant. Multiply that by at least two, seeing as the coordinates and fire authorization signal has to actually make its way TO the satellite first. It also has to punch its way through several miles of atmosphere, most likely superheating the air column by pulsed lasing, same as they do with modern lasers. By the time the orbital laser is positioned, warmed up, and fired, you will have something comparable to the ten-second artillery delay you see in Battlefield 2.

But then, who ever said BF2142 is going to be realistic?

I'd say a nuke that takes everything out within 150 meters to be more usefull.

I would also like to see the vehicles go toppling down the road from the wind.
