Best Readme ever!

Man, this had me in stitches! I just downloaded the carmageddon II demo and the readme automatically pops up after installation.

1. Warning.
Carmageddon was a violent game. We mean really very violent, the kind of stuff that made politicians and respectable people the world over choke on their high- fibre breakfasts, and denounce it as morally-bankrupt soul-poison. We frankly found this reaction rather half-hearted, and hope that this time we're giving them all something to really get upset about. This demo contains scenes of (extremely entertaining and funny) dismemberment and gore. It is not for the faint hearted, nor those with bladder control problems, and certainly not for those under the age of 18 - we would never encourage kids to play this game.
Play this demo with an open mind and an empty stomach. If you don't like it,
please remove it from your hard drive and don't play it any more. Pass the demo to a friend who may prefer it.

Sorry, we make no apologies for what is in this game. No animals were (fatally) harmed during the making of this game (that's not part of the apology, by the way).

erm. Its already out. Its been out for a number of years now on the PC. I'm not sure about US release as the first title was very contreversial in terms of violence and was outright banned in many regions.
I'm pretty sure you gouys got it though as I downloaded the demo from filefront.com

just checked for ya and yup, its out in the US. Released in 1999 on ly on the pc.
The original carmageddon released on the PC, MAc, PSone.
There were seperate versions for the N64, GBC and a Gizmondo version was supposed to be released in 2005 but went A.W.O.L

i've been playing carma2 lately, and also been putting modded content into it.

it hasn't demented me any... i think?

did you have any problem playing the demo?

for XP, you have to use a dos server to run the game decently with 3dfx glide. i use the dgvoodoo freeware, and it's done alright for me.

Not at all, the demo ran remarkably well. I was quite surprised but hey, so long as I can squish stuff its all good.

what kind of vid card do you have? my nvidia 7600gs didn't support it since it used glide 3dfx, and i had to patch the game to play in xp also.

256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO, works a charm on most games. There's a little slowdown in counterstrike: Source but thats likely the measly 1 Gig of RAM.
Haven't had the PC long so I'm still getting accustomed to most of the stuff.
