English is the language of business because of how big English speaking companies became in the last 100 years, and before that the British had explored to many regions trading exotic goods spreading the language. My guess is in the future Chinese will be the language of business as seeing how much more capitalistic they've become in the last years in trading and sales. Also china has some of the least regulations on businesses in the world allowing for growth to happen quit easily.
